Reality continues to catch up with Nineteen Eighty-Four with the announcement of the development of a brain scanner that can read a person's intentions. 'It's like shining a torch around, looking for writing on a wall,' said the leader of the project, Professor John-Dylan Haynes . Demonstrating his own mastery of doublethink, Haynes continued 'We see the danger that this might become compulsory one day, but we have to be aware that if we prohibit it, we are also denying people who aren't going to commit any crime the possibility of proving their innocence.' Do you think the invention of a device that can read people's mind is a good thing or not?

I don't think It would be a good idea if this invention would be used by anyone, everyday. It would be useful in the field of psychiatry to read the minds of the mentally disturbed patients to help in formulating a treatment plan. It would also be useful in helping solve crimes by reading suspected criminals' mind and to be able to know if they are indeed the suspect or the innocent victim. But If everyone would be allowed to use it everyday on just about anyone, then the danger of intrusion arises and starts a problem.
