Yes there is a place called 'area 51' i don't know about the extra terrestrials part though, however, it is home to a military base, i was going to say 'secret' military base, but everyone seems to know about it anyway, so it's not much of a secret. But it is a facility, the workings of which are kept top secret. that's why there's all this fascination about it.
