20th century. We've witnessed a lot of advancement in our society. Destructive wars are waged, yet at the same time society advancement is on a fast track. Among all the great men, hero and villains alike, who is the most influential? And why?

I would like to think that M.S. Ghandi was influential. I believe he was as he created a non-violence movement that really worked in India. The movement later came to the USA in the 1960's - quite successfully under Martin Luther King. I find it very uplifting to think what a difference can be made in society through non-violence.
