Although a lot of prescriptions may be prescribed by doctors - sleeping peels, etc.. But I dont recommend that due to its side effects that i encountered from them.. A relaxation therapy may help a lot.. You may see a therapist that relaxes the whole body using accupancture.. It reall suits even the sleeping practise...
And I have a personal practise, I dont think if this may do the same positve result to you guys.. When u sleep try to catch those zzZZZZzzzZZZzz that you hear once you turn side on slepping.. Then follow those zzzZZZZzzz that you hear and start counting from 1 to infinity.. Minutes will come that you unnoticedly see urself waking up after 5 hours or 6 of sleeping... Its because when we count as in 1, 2, 3, wiothout skipping our brain get tired and result to sleeping.. :D

Insomnia can have physical and psychological effects. The consequences of insomnia include:-
Insomnia can affect concentration and memory, and can affect one's ability to perform daily tasks. Insomnia endangers public safety by contributing to traffic and industrial accidents. Various studies have shown that fatigue plays a major role in automobile and machinery accidents. As many as 100,000 automobile accidents, accounting for 1,500 deaths, are caused by sleepiness. Insomnia increases the activity of the hormones and pathways in the brain that cause stress, and changes in sleeping patterns have been shown to have significant affects on mood. Ongoing insomnia may be a sign of anxiety and depression. Headaches that occur during the night or early in the morning may be related to a sleep disorder.

I don't suffer from it, I enjoy it. I get to watch awful TV and spend more time on here.
And I am at a point where I don't have bags..I have luggage. I guess it goes along with the getting older thing.

Sometimes I enjoy it because I used to have long hours to watch my favorite shows but the thing was I hate the after effect of not having enough sleep. I can't concentrate on my work during the day.

Luckily, I never suffer with insomnia. I generally have the opposite problem, and sleep too heavily, and cannot wake up in the morning. I've heard drinking a hot, milky drink before bedtime helps some people, and also camomile tea to calm you. Taking a bath scented with lavendar oil also halps.

I do. I have not found anything that works for me yet as I do not want to take any medication for it.
it is very frustrating. I have been told not to stay in bed if you can't sleep, get up and do something for a bit, then try again when you feel you may be able to fall asleep.
Sorry, I can't offer you any good advice, but I could use some myself....

I have had insomnia all my life. I went on a pill called amitryptyline a few years ago. I was on the lowest dose, 10 mg and it helped me sleep for a year but I went off it because I didn't want to take medication every day. Now I just don't sleep until I'm really tired, usually 2 or 3 am, and then I read or do a crossword puzzle which helps me to sleep. But sometimes I still can't sleep and if I need to get up early I will take a gravol or a benedryl to make me sleep.

I have the insomnia problem. I suffer a lot due to it. Sometimes it's 3 pm at night, when I can finally sleep. I think it's due my Thyroid problem, and depressions. Actually depressions also occur due to thyroid problems. This is a serious problem. I don't know how to fight it, but I try a lot to put away my depressions. Insomnia is really bad, it's painful to be wide awake at night, when the whole city is deep in sleep. It causes serious restlessness, and tiredness to the brain, and the whole body. I have sen doctors. But they just prescribes some sleeping pills, and that's all.

although studies shows that men are less insomiac but i also do suffer from this very alarming insomnia.. Since high school i was experiencing little sleep but it is extremely going even worst this time that i work. Yeah maybe beacause Im in a graveyard shift so I find very uncomfortable and difficult sleeping during daytime.. I just curl up upside left right on my bed.. waaaahh.. Sometimes I got to sleep but huh! as expected I just wake up after 1 hour and now having trouble returning to sleep.. Another side, I have sleep for 5 hours ( thanks GOD for a worthy sometimes) but I dont feel well rested eventhoug.. haayzz.. Definitely Im a chronic Insomiac..
