Search love in internet...I really don't understand this growing trend

Hi to everybody! I'm very sad when I see that people prefer internet relationships instead of the real ones... For example people that search a boyfriend/girlfriend in internet or chat... Don't you think it's better to have a real contact with a person instead of a virtual one? How can you tell to know a person if you've never looked him in to his eyes? Think about this! I really don't understand this growing trend... Can you help me?
