Hey people its a simple question.
You are travelling in a tube ot metro or bus and you see this old lady or a lady with a child or a old man.
wouldnt you offer him/her you seat???
I know i would but except me no one else offered her a seat and she was so thankfull when i offered her my seat, i just cant forget that smile that she gave when is offered her my seat.
There were loads of people but no one offered her there seat, arent we human.
have we forget to help other?

I would most certainly offer them my seat, its only proper manners to do that. It ticks me off to see other people just sit there and pretend like they dont notice that someone could really use their seat. I make it a point to offer my seat in these situations, I always figure a good deed is never forgotten.

I would offer my seat. I am a woman, but even I have given up my seat to an older person, a pregnant lady, etc. I think it is the respectful thing to do.
On the other hand, I have been pregnant and tired and the train was full of young men who did not give a second thought to stay seated.
The world is full of all kinds, but I fear the uncaring and thoughtless seem to be overtaking the good and kind. :o*

I would definitely give up my seat. I find it personally fulfilling to give my seat to a person more in need of it.

Well, I am not so young myself and my back gets tired when I stand. However, out of habit, I would still offer my seat to a person older than me, or even to somebody younger than me. I would never allow a person with a young child to stand and I would insist that they should have me seat.

I'm being honest when i say this but i would only allow someone who respect the fact that i'm giving my seat up for them which most don't.
To the tell truth alot of old people were i'm from are very mean and nasty which imo they don't deserve it. I give my seat up to pregent women even if they nasty + to anyone with walking problems but if they can manage i won't.
One time on a bus, a old women told my wife who pregent to get up and let her sit down. I said if she wanted to sit down she could have my seat but no "i want to sit near the window".. move forward and sit in empty spaces!

Yes i will offer my seat and have done it on number of occasion. Sad to say that our new generation no longer do that. They will not bother as they feel that they are paying for it and they get the seat first. It is very very sad they have forgotten that that what if that old lady is their mother, sister or wife. Well the world is really changing.

Sure I would. If it was a lady with a young child, but I probably wouldn't offer my seat to a kid over 8 or so. They've got plenty of energy, they can stand up!

Yes I will. Its one way of helping other people by simply doing simple things. Its just so sad sometimes how other people forget to be kind sometimes.

GOOD ON YA. Im from the country where people are friendlier, where everybody waves and says hello even when we dont know them. Times are changing though, I recently moved to Brisbane QLD, one day my car broke down and i was parked on the side of a busy road and was standing next to my car 8 MONTHS PREGNANT. After about half an hour only one car had bothered to pull up and offer help, he had NSW registration plate, probably a country man. I cou;d not believe no one else bothered to ask if I was alright. Im not saying there are no curtious people here ,they just didnt use that road that day!!!!!!!
Its sad how the world has become

I would have offered my seat also. I know what its like since I am a mother of three to be somewhere looking for a seat and not being able to find one. I dont think people these days really care too much about how others feel. I was pushed out of the way when I was pregnant just so a lady could take my seat. Nice I know!! It was very big of you to stand out amongst a crowd and help someone else.

i am a lady myself. but if i see a pregnant woman in a bus i would give her my seat. a woman with a child, i would suggest to let the child seat on my lap. an old man? it depends how old the man is... if he is in his 50's and able, no. 60's and still able, also no. 70's and 80's probably. it depends if they can't really handle themselves standing, ofcourse i would give my seat.

I do this too. I do not think anything of it because it is the right thing to do. However, just because it is the right thing to do doesn't mean the person who gets the seat shouldnt say thank you when you give it to them! The past few times this has happened to me and (not picking on anyone here, but..) the older ladies who sat down did not even thank me. Perhaps they are bitter because it doesnt always happen these days?
