Well lets see, the first, second, and third were all PG. I know there was some uncertainty about the 3rd one being PG-13 or not but they did PG nayway. Now the 4th "Goblet of Fire" is PG-13 and i know "order of the pheonix" will most likely be too, but after reading the 6th book "half-Blood prince" it gets more darker. Do you think the Harry Potter movies will make it to an "R" rating, i personally don't think so, i think the remaining movies will all be PG-13, but share your opinions please, what do u think?

Yeah, you've pretty much said my thoughts with better words. I completely agree with you. I really doubt that WB would even DARE change the rating to an R considering the audience the movies are targeting. It'd lose a majority of its viewers.

I agree that the books are getting continually darker, and the level that they are aimed at seems to be older teens and adults now. I actually think that's good, because most kids who start out reading the books will read them in order, and will not read them quick enough to be at the more mature level before they're ready. The movies on the other hand are so vastly different from the books that I don't think they have to get up to an R rating. They know there will be a lot of younger kids seeing them, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were kept a little less dark than the books.

I doubt they would let it reach the point of needing to be rated "R". They want the younger viewers to be able to view it and if it is rated "R" some parents no matter why it was rated that wouldn't let their kids see it. Some parents wouldn't care if it was or why it was they'd let the kids watch it but others would look at content before judging. I think the makers would know this and would want to keep it were most parents won't have a problem with letting the kids view it. After all, they want their money.

You know what?
Maybe it even will..
Just like Rowling understood that her readers growing up with the books, so are the films...
The books become more and more dark, and the movies will also will be like that..
So maybe the rating will grow even more..

I dont think it would get to an R rating. They will make sure that it stays at PG 13, so all the fans can still watch it without asking their Parents "Mum, where do babies come from?".. lol.. It does get alot darker, but they change the books so much for the movies that it will probably be filled with butterflies and unicorns lol

I'm sure the rest of the films will get PG-13 ratings, but I doubt they will reach R unless the 7th book is just really violent. If it is then it's possible that the 7th movie will get an R rating.

I don't think it will reach an R rating, JK would not allow that, I mean, they are considered to be children's books, the movie peole could not be that dumb.
Maybe they could make, 2 versions of the movie, one PG-13 and then another R, for those of us who are over 17 (ok 17 *3 plus a few years, geez I am getting old!)

I'm not so sure about that but I guess the producers are the trying their best to make the movie suited to young viewers and at the same time do not go far away from way it was wriiten in the book. Their market is actually the young and the young at heart, if they don't make it a litle lighter, they for sure will get a rating of R, their viewers will not be able to watch and their profits will surely be diminished. And if they make it more darker, who do you think will watch it? Wll you watch a movie that you cannot see the actors and actresses because it's dark? Just kiddin. LOL

No I think there is no reason for making it a R rating becuase there isn't that much violence in it. But just alot of fanisity dreams of one person, therefor I don't think Harry Potter movies with ever reach the R rating. But then again I might be wrong. But why make the movies rated R becuase some 9 year old's are reading these books and are getting the meaning too, therefor I think the movie rating people will see that and take that into consideration and make all of the Harry Potter movie rating PG-13.

I don't think it would reach the R rating. Harry Potter was intended for kids and I think that majority of the viewers waiting to see the next movie in the big screen are kids. So I think the film-makers would do their best to make it remain at the PG-13 level without totally compromising the quality of the movie... ;)

I doubt it. They will keep the last 3 at a PG-13 rating. I think it would only get an R if it had swearing or blood in it, which it does not. People dying doesn't mean a movie should be rated R and since the violence is fanciful I doubt it would substantiate an R rating.
I'm also sure there will be a lot of editing so that the movie won't be to scary to younger kids. I know my kids will watch them even though they are little. My oldest is 6 and has seen the other 4. She was terrified of the first one and cried whenever she saw me watching it (she was 3 the first time she saw it). My son (who is 5) just watched Goblet of Fire with me a couple weeks ago and walked out of the room at the end. I asked him what was wrong and he said it was a little too scary for him. When I assured him it was just make believe he came back and was fine. Kids can handle a lot more then many parents give them credit for.

I don't think they're likely to ever reach anything more than a PG-13, as they started out as children's/teenager's books, and aren't likely to sell as well in a more *adult* fan-base...

I think anyone at the age of 13 is mature enough to watch a movie about the 6th book.
I guess we have to wait untill the last book.
