My producer called 2 nights ago to inform me that he is selling the studio and all artists on his label will go with it, and he's sorry. Well sorry is an understatement. The highest offer on the table is from a company in California whose focus is on Latino music. Which is fine, but I am not latino and do not sing in the language. I still have 2 more years on the contract so am wondering what I am going to do.

Well 1 option would to ask to be let of your contract as your talents do not fit into thier future plans. Another option would ask are they gonna support your act and get commintment on what they are going to do. The last thing it to fulfill the terms of the contract but do the minium and maybe tour more so when you sign else where you can command a higher price for your talents.

Thanks for the tips, I already asked to be let out and he told me know cuz it would cost him money, but he did tell me I could buy it out, can't do that cuz don't have that much money. He ( the producer) said he was going to contact Sparrow records and see if they were still interested in purchasing my contract. They had contacted him about a while back but he turned down the offer. And yes if I am not released before the takeover then I would ask the new owners what their intentions were and if they would release me without penalty, would I be able to take this latest album with me. All questions I guess will have to wait until we see who actually buys it. These are excellent tips though and make sure I ask these questions and suggestions you have made when the time comes. Thank you so much.
