Firefox, IE7 and Opera - I use 2 of 3, here's why and what is your preference?

I have for a long time used both IE and Firefox. I liked Firefox because of the tabbed browsing, and now MS has introduced IE7 which also supports tabbed browsing, and Opera 10 likewise supports tabbed browsing. MS has joined this group assumedly because of competition, people have learned that a row of readable or quickly referenced tabs is a lot easier than a host of open windows that ends up in a stack under one label at the bottom of your screen. I still use both, but for specific reasons.. I have a website that often contains 1000 items or more, and I need to check it ever day to insure that products I am promoting are in stock, (it is an affiliate website). The set up for both browsers is the same, I use my laptop and set the touchpad zones to include a simulated center click on the top left corner. In both IE and FF this opens a click in a new tab, but I have reasons for the use of each browser.... Firefox... When I go to do my daily check of products, I first clear the history so the link colors will give me an indication of which links I have already visited. I go to each page of my website one at a time in the main tab, then I center click, (top left corner of touch pad) each item one after another. This saves me the time of waiting for each item to show up, then back paging. It takes me about 30-40 minutes to check all the products on my website. In IE, I can see a tab opening, but once the tab bar is full the only indication I get of a new link click being registered and a new tab being opened is a little square at the end of the tab bar will flash once in an orangish color. FF on the other hand draws a dotted lined box around the image, and the text link changes color immediately to the color of a visited link, and it does this on the fly without refreshing the page. This makes checking lots of links quick and easy and I have a reference point along the way. Not so with IE. When I do standard surfing or checking my daily advertising and commissions I use IE. It pops up faster for sure, but it just seems as though my surfing is a little more user friendly. I have not used Opera since several versions ago, probably 3 years back, but I've heard others say that Opera is THE fastest browser out there. Have you used Opera, and does it seem to be the fastest to you? If you don't mind telling us, what reasons other than preference do you have for using one or the other, or even multiple browsers for different types of surfing?

There is no question on that Firefox is much better than IE , IE is the worst browser ever even though the IE 7 looks good and added some new features that firefox has ,but i still dun buy it , IE is the most valunerable browser, however firefox is not all that prefect, it has the problems of its own like meomry leakage ,which in some case takes too much space on RAM, cause it doesn't release the space that it has used. the best browser that i have seen so far that gives the best contrl and it has so many feauters is Opera, i love that browser. so many features, frequent upgrade, and it is the fastest browser that i know.Safari is good runs very smoothly i love that too but however some website dun support it , like the new Yahoo Email Beta, but it is a nice OS too. So make sure give Opera a try i am sure u will love it. 1. Opera 2. Safari 3. Firefox IE is not in my list for now ,until they come up with somethin impressive enough.

IE Isn't on your list until they come up with something impressive enough? That could be a very long wait my friend, does the term When Hell Freezes over, bring any dimension as to when MS plans to get something right?, LOL

I haven't tried opera but between the other two I use firefox. At least until microsoft disables it, I'm with firefox.

That's funny but it is a scary thought, if MS can disable FF, then they could potentially disable any software they don't agree with, which would open a whole world full of a can of worms.

Thank you for the preferences. I noticed you have Opera above IE, have you tried IE7, and what is it that makes you prefer Opera over IE?

I like Mozilla Firefox rather than Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox is faster than Internet Explorer. Beside that Mozilla Firefox is most secured. I have a lot of headaches when I use Internet Explorer. But sometime I used IE for downloading some files in a megaupload.

Have you downloaded and tried IE7 yet? I am currently using a new computer with some of the latest in security software so I haven't had a problem with either, but I did download IE7 and I do like the tabbed browsing which was my primary reason for using FF in the first place. I have not tried Opera yet, and being a new computer with fresh install of everything I'm not sure I want to adulterate my reg files with a bunch of baggage when everything is working OK for me now.

I've used Opera as my main browser for years. I've experimented with several different browsers in this time, and still Opera remains as my favorite. It really is the fastest of these browsers, it is lighter and manages RAM and disk space way better than firefox, and it comes out-of-the-box with several features that you would only have in firefox if you spent some hours looking for and installing the appropriate extensions.
