No doubt vegetables are important, in fact most important however we were made to chew and I believe we need some meat in small doses. A heathy portion of meat would be equivelent to a deck of cards. Just my opinion of course. Grandmaof2

In my opinion , man can survive on purely vegetarian diet. I myself is the best example. I never eat meat, fish or even eggs. But I'm much more healthier than most of the people around me who are non-veggies. Many in my age group complain of and suffer from varied kinds of illnesses but I'm almost free of them. I strongly believe that my health is a consequence of my veg diet. My daughters are also vegetarians.

No, I do not agree that hey are healthier. It may help with the weight thing. All the truely vegitarien people I have seen are so thin and sickly looking it makes me want a steak. There are always exceptions to the rule but that's what I see for the most part.

You are really mistaken mikeyr!!! Go to Asia, there you can see strict vegetarians who are very fat to look at (though fatness is not considered to be a healthy aspect). And if you want to know, thinness or fatness is not a measure of the good health. I know several persons who are vegs and thin looking but very healthy, energetic and spritely. At the same time, non-veg/fat persons cannot be said to be very healthy and they will surely be less spritely. This is an observed fact and not just for argument.
