Time zones

I just got to thinking why do we have different time zones? I don't see why we have them what is the point? I mean it would also be a lot less confusing for people to say hey ill be in new york at 5 it would start to get confusing and if you were visiting somewhere and you couldnbt adjust to the normal time what do you guys think abou different time zones do you think they should all be the same or leave it how it is why do you think this?

Having the same time zones will be perfect and less confusing. However, that desire is impossible because of the earth's shape and we only have one sun.
