Hey there! Anyone out there know anything about fixing printers? I'd like to do this on my own as I know it's only a small thing to fix. My problem is that my baby pulled the encoder strip out of my HP PSC 1315 all in one. Anyone know how to get this back in? Or even have step by step photos of how I can do it? I'd hate to throw my printer out due to this, can't see me paying to get it fixed as the printer possibly cost less than the amt to fix it and it's not under warranty. I called HP and they were absolutely no help... :( Help! TIA!

Did the strip break at all? Hate to tell you this, but most likely its not worth fixing. If it came off cleanly you should be able to hook it back up, there should be some take apart manuals for your printer, I'll see if I can find one for you. The problem is printers are basically made as throw away technology once they break most places don't bother fixing them.

Thank you so much. I tried attaching it but seems like on eof the hooks got bent and it keeps moving. Guess it's ready for the dump! argh! Oh well...I wanted a photo printer anyway...:)
