Here's How to Come up With a Topic to Write About

I have been trying new technics that actually help me better to prepare what to write in myLot and anywhere and any reason in general:
Get a sheet of paper and a pen.
Think of topics/issues that you know a few things about. You can go off your talents, hobbies, life experiences, etc. Try to steer away from a topic that you know only one or two things about, because you won't be able to write a whole lot on that subject.
Start writing down what comes to your mind. If you've got a lot of good ideas on home decorating, write it down. Or, if you know about cheerleading, gardening, pottery, cooking, fixing cars, business, investing, the list goes on.
To keep your brain constantly going, only write the main topic, "cheerleading", "dancing," on your paper. Then go back later, to fill in your ideas or experiences with that topic.
Keeping this paper handy will be a big help the next time you begin to write. Over time, your list will grow, as you will. You'll have different interests (some will remain, of course) but, once you've learned about your new interests, you will be able to write about them too.
Enjoy!

Someone told me that putting two seemingly unrelated concepts together is also a good way to write such as: gardening and fixing cars. While a person who fixes cars may not "seem" like a gardener, that would not be the main purpose of the exercise. Concepts that link them together though are: helper, go-getter, ambitious. Why those concepts and words? Because, a gardener seeks to fix his/her plants and a mechanic wants to fix his car and help someone: himself/herself, friends, strangers, etc. Thanks for the post, it gave me another writing style idea.
