How about a beauty party? My grandmother hired a lady who worked at a salon to come to my house and I invited 5 friends. She painted our nails and we ate cucumber sandwiches and drank iced tea. It was fun!

Instinct says "Fun, something you know she loves, and not too PG."
Nice to see "life is wonderful" as a tag.

hello. I don't know if a 'theme' is so much of an issue as doing things that 14 year -old girls enjoy! I would definitely let the birthday girl have some friends over to spend the night...a slumber party. Some things to do with the girls (at least some things that my girl enjoyed at the age of 14) would be:
a. kareoke!! This is big at this age. Rent a kareoke machine!
b.take them roller skating
c.take them to the mall
d.rent movies and have a movie marathon
e.for sure you must send them on a scavenger hunt!! I did this and they had a ball. I thought of strange things and they had to go into my neighborhood and ring doorbells and get the stuff! I had things like: get your pinky fingernail painted red, get a paperclip, get a toothpick, find a pinecone or acorn, etc. They had a time limit and the first group back won! (they went in groups of three) Now of course, your neighborhood has to be safe enough for this!
Whatever, just enjoy! they grow up way too fast!

It depends on what interests her at the present. There are girls who like certain artists (like singers), then you can put up a party related to that theme. If your girl is still very much into cartoons, then put that up as a theme. Famous themes my friends have put up are "Alice in Wonderland", "Pirates of the Carribean", and princess themes.
