How to have your own Yellow Submarine. Would you buy one?

yellow submarine - yellow or blue submarine of your choice

Four decades after Ringo Starr sang about how to 'live a life of ease', a proper yellow submarine has finally gone on the market. For the cost of a new Porsche (£65,000), people will be able to buy not just a bright yellow submarine reminiscent of living "a life of ease" but a colour of their choice. The subs weigh up to 1.5tonnes, and feature air purification systems that ensure a healthy supply and flow of oxygen in the cockpit. Under water life?

well, I remember being a teenager and going to the submarine races at the drive-in. So yeah, I would buy it and if I had the money to buy it, I guess I would not be worried about where to put it.

that's a little pricey for me. Plus it doesn't look very big--I'm 6 foot 2 and would definitely get claustrophobic in something like that!

ha, ha...it is big, just looks small on this picture. Are you claustrofobic in Porsche? Forget about price, would you buy if you could afford?

I'd have one with bright pink flowers on, it sounds cool and so much fun. I just need a whole lot of throw away money so I think it may have to wait a long time, fun idea, I can imagine how I'd do the inside and everything!

Well from my perspective this sounds really intersting but I couldn't use one. I live in the middle of the United States and while there are a few lakes around none have clear water. So once a year to the cost would not be very cost effective. LOL I had not heard of this before.

sounds like a great toys for me lol but i dont have that much to waste on a yellow submarine though. dont have enough money for a porsche maybe when i am rich, than i would get one, but i always wanted a jet pack so i can fly around in it, i think it alot more fun than yellow submarine.

Dutch designers claim the subs will make owners feel like they are "flying through the water". The one-seater version is 2,7m long, and the 3,3 model seats two. Owners who really want to impress can get go-faster stripes and custom paint jobs. The tiny C-Quester can dive to 50 metres and cruise beneath the waves at up to four knots using electric-propelled thrusters. It can stay underwater for two-and-half hours straight or 36 hours in the event of an emergency. The vessel's high-strength pressure hull allows the pilot to submerge in a totally dry cockpit and surface straight from the maximum depth without risk of decompression problems. Makers U-Boat Worx, which took three years to perfect the subs, said: "Never before has it been possible for the public to explore the underwater world with a one-atmosphere submarine." But budding Jacques Cousteaus will need to get an underwater pilot's license before they get behind the wheel.

This sounds like the extreme in extravagance, but would I have one? sure if I could afford it. What a way to get away from it all.

we all live in the yellow submarine!!!! Oh yes I would certainly buy one if I could afford the price...imagine..driving a submarine, being a sort of modern Captain Nemo like the one Jules Verne described in his famous book...what a funny thing...I could have a look at the pacific ocean and its marvellous reef or decide to arrive near a desert island and live there until I want to have a bit of adventure...imagine...goind down and down until the place where no human being never went...until places where light is unknown...imagine having a display to see and study that special fishes living in the very depth of the oceans...imagine could listen to the sound of the real silence and feel the big embrace of the water over you...Oh Ok I would be the captain...who is going to join under me and be my crew?
