The two most scarry movies I watched were The Shining and The Exorcist. When I saw the Exorcist I was a young mother. And after seeing it I thought that my young kids were possessed because of any, I mean any little thing they did. I still won't watch any of those movies.

I saw The Ring, Breenjalf, but I'll never watch Saw 2. If A Tale Of Two Sisters is too horrible I definately won't watch it or Feng Shui.

I agree, the Shining and The Exorcist are two of the scariest there were. I loved Jack Nicholson in The Shining. A few of the other movies that scared me silly: Seven: I can't quite put my finger on why, but this movie just really disturbed me. Misery: It wasn't your typical horror movie gore or even overly spooky, but it scared the heck outta me. I think it was because I was in a phase where I really wanted to be a famous writer when I saw it, and when I saw what happened to "Paul" in the movie it made me think twice about the fame part! I didn't want any "Number One Fans." Pet Cemetary: The scene with the cat startled me so bad I accidentally kicked someone in front of me in the movie theater! Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Beginning: This one gets in purely for the non-stop gross factor. I'm not even sure how it could have scared me, since I spent most of it with my head buried on my boyfriend's shoulder trying not to peek at the screen.

I saw Misery, Pet Cemetary and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but the one I saw was in the late '60s.

The book the shining was scarier then the movie by far. I personally got freaked out by Rosemary's Baby.

I didn't know there was a book but I definately won't be reading it. And I read the Rosemary's Baby book over 30 years ago. And I agree that it's scarier than the movie.

I agree with you on the Shining. The Shining is the scariest movie I have watched. I saw it for the first time in college and I had nightmares for a week. I have never seen the Exorcist but since I agree with you about The Shining.. I will stay away from that one too.
