Chatting is Bad habit?

When I start internet 7 years back. I have a cryz of chatting. I chat day night, and waist my time very much. at that time I never use internet for creative purpose.
now I didn't chat, and most of time on internet spend to get knowledge. i think chatting is very bad habit. which waist our time and money. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

but i dont accept with u bcoz we can devolep our communication skill by chating we neeed to use it in a right way

i think it can be very addictive. one has to see the purpose of chatting? as a stress reliever? or to chat with multiple people over long distances etc.
there are a lot of things which is easier said vocally rather than through words. this is especially true now that VoIP is the in thing with skype etc. :)

I think chatting is a great way to make new friends, keep in touch with old ones, and not have to sit on the phone with one single person all the time. The downside is you are sitting in front of a screen instead say at a coffee shop and the rate people are going now a days, the English language and punctuation are declining quickly.

It depends onperson to person and i dont think it is that bad if u have proper guidance and orientation. It is a very good way to keep in touch with so many of ur friends and no matter where u r or how far apart u r!!

Hmm sometimes chat may also get knowlegde, I'm very rare chat also, usually I'm just browsing arround, from forum to forum, read here read there, posting here and there also, sharing what I have and get what they share, read news, but now suddenly I'm here stuck at mylot everyday, posting here always, reading here always.
