And what do you know about them? I had a cat with no tail at all just turn up on my doorstep. A very pretty cat, black and grey striped with gold colored eyes, but no tail, not even a sign of one. I am assuming it is a manx. I have decided to take it in, since I love cats and wanted one anyway. I'm just curious about the breed and wonder if that is what I have? I am thinking it is.

Manx cats are wonderful!
Not overly talkative, very affectionate and VERY playful. My old girl used to like to hop from the floor to the counter to the space between the cupboard and the ceiling and hang out there until someone coaxed her down. Then she'd bolt to the far end of the house to my room, grab a toy and bolt back, almost like she was rewarding you for spotting her.
It's possible that you do have a manx cat, or at the very least a cat with the manx (tail-less) gene, but it would be very hard to tell without knowing the cat's origins.
Did you end up keeping the cat?
