how do i get rid of these annoying pop ups ?? PLEASE HELP ME !! / myLot

does ANYONE, ANYONE, ANYONE know how to get rid of these popups ? they are so annoying !! i have norton antivirus and AVG anti-spyware, and i have had no problems with popups until about 3 days ago. i was installing programs that would help me combine audio files then when i realised i ddnt really know howw to use them, i deleted them and i think that those programs i downloaded are causing these annoying popups... PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME ??

Ok, are you talking about popups while browsing the internet, or popups on your desktop?

get the latest internet explorer or firefox..which got inbuild pop up blocker..which works well

ok thanks. which do u think is better tho... explorer or firefox ?? btw i dont like the new explorer 7 because i dont like how the web windows are in one internet explorer as i prefer switching between sites on my desktop's toolbar... thanks for the advice !! take care & God bless !!

I believe you have running virus/trojan you think it as program. this is to hard to fix if you are not advanced in programing. I will tell you to clean your computer in easy way. first check your computer with your best antivirus and antispyware if the problem continues then you should see on your startup configuration remove all weird command and program will run on every your computer start. follow on that link and search which file used for starting destroy it all!! If the problem keep appear you should do it manually use advanced third party tools like hijacthis or anything strong that can used for manage your computer, check your program files directory remove all folder contains strange files on it (be carefully if you do this if you are not sure that file) If the problem not solved yet you can try to use system restore in your accessories to bring your system on the last day it run goods. honestly if this all tricks not work you should contact someone near you on there to help you on this problem or you have to setup your computer from zero again.

thanks for your advice but its not really specific enough. if i d/l just ANY pop up blocker it itself could be making more pop ups. pls be a bit more specific if possible... do u noe of any trustworthy pop up blockers? if so do u have a link that i can go to to d/l it ? thanks !! take care !!

Try to get the free version of XCleaner, after done cleaning, use Firefox instead of IE.

What kind of pop-ups? try to install it again then properly uninstall it using "add/remove programs" that can be found on your "control panel" sometimes when you just delete it, it can cause problems. Make sure you always uninstall the unwanted programs not just deleting it.
