Care to elaborate? I'm a bit confused with what you're trying to say. Man knew of sin because of God. It was God who commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden, so it was God who told them it was a sin. With no knowledge of sin, how could man know he was doing wrong? We know things are wrong because we're given that knowledge when we're growing up. But how could man have any concept of right and wrong with no prior knowledge? It just doesn't make sense. With no prior knowledge of sin or wrong, nothing would seem wrong to man.

That is a good statement or question, depending on how you read it, but I think the answer lies much deeper than is it God or man who came up with the concept of sin.
Sin is not just a concept, it is rebellion against God. The original sin was not Adam and Eve eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, the original sin was caused by Satan when He rebelled against God. On earth Satan was already a sinful nature, in the Garden he used the serpent to deceive and tempt Eve, which is a sin in itself.
God is Holy and Pure, He is perfect and without flaw. Anything less than perfect wisdom, any act that lacks total love and compassion, any thought that is about ourselves is selfish and is also a sin in regard to the fact that it is rebellion against God. These acts and thoughts have no place in heaven, and no man can pass this test, we can only try and accept the grace of God.

Sin is a term used mainly in a religious context to describe an act that violates a moral rule or the state of having committed such a violation. In monotheistic religions, the code of conduct is determined by God. Colloquially, any thought, word, or act considered immoral, shameful, harmful, or alienative might be termed "sinful".
Common ideas surrounding sin in various religions include:
Punishment for sins, either from other people, from God either in life or an afterlife, or from the Universe in general.
The question of whether or not an act must be intentional to be sinful.
The idea that one's conscience should produce guilt for a knowing sin.
A scheme for determining the seriousness of the sin.
Repentance from (expressing regret for and determining not to commit) sin, and atonement (repayment) for past deeds.
The possibility of forgiveness of sins, often through communication with a deity or intermediary; in Christianity often referred to as salvation.
