whats in a nickname?

I know what a nickname is and i also know that the person that gets a nickname is related to that nickname ,or at least the person who gives you that name thinks that name fits you...Ok the nick name that i have gotten is "SLICK" i am a woman so what do you think that nickname means?What do you think that person that gave it to me was trying to say? be honest.....Now have u got a nick name if so what is it? thanks

Let me try this one, am not really good on giving associated names to my friends or the people I know. I guess the one who gave you that nick "slick" was trying to let you and the whole world know that you are a person with a smooth personality. I mean, someone who have a nice and smooth disposition. Thank you rogen, that is what i was looking for (the reason)you have been the best ,at least you had an idea...My ex gave me that name and we had 5 children togeather,he still calls me that everytime i see him...I am also a hair dresser and i added the cut,cause one day I had planned on opening a shop and naming it "Slickcuts" You are the very best answer,thank you my friend...

A nickname is for having a short name or a pet name. It is usually take it when we are kids. They give some cute pet name or nick because as a child we are so cute.

I know what a nick name is,but people give you nick names to something that related to you...Its like id someone like to play pool,they aquire the name like " Q ball",so I ask what you feel my nick name meant to you ? and if you had one? Please don,t try to explain a v nick name I understand what they sre.Please read my question again.

I am sorry no one read your discussion before replying. I guess that is what MyLot means by content.
I have a couple of nicknames. I was called slick as a teen. Partially because my name is Rick.
I also had a nickname of hector which was warped to Hekter when it caught on. I changed it to Hekter because that is the way people pronounce it around here. Not Hector.
I even use Hekter when I perform. I think it is funny. LOL.

Oh thats ok.i fixed my discussion page,hope that is better.thank you for telling me,when I went there i could see why...Well my ex called me slick,and the eason he did was because he was running around and i always caught him,he said i was like an FBI LOL...So you perform? I thought so by your aviator..i always think that when someone gives you a nick name they do that for a reason...Im not talking about a lovey name but a name like slick..likethey callled you that cause you were rick,and i told you why I got it..I am a cosmetologist so thats why i use "slickcut"
