I guess the secret is the quests that you choose. Going to an area that has the items that you need or the creeps that you'll kill or even the places that you need to visit for quest requirements help save time. Also, killing creeps that wield substantial experience while heading to the area also helps. Lastly, resting in an inn before logging out is a must. Happy leveling! :)
