Although superstitions have no scientific basis, something must have happened at some point of time which could be responsible for their general acceptance. While in the Islamic world number 786 is considered to be lucky, in the christian world number 13 is considered to be ominous. Can any of you throw some light on the origin? I consider many of the numerical regerances like these as mere superstition. I believe in the cause and effect theory, or the fact that every action can have consequences. But I don't bother much about it, since there is so less we can change about this intricate web of action and consequences.
