I am here with the first article in the series. Gothic and Romantic novels' time period collide with each other towards the end of the romanticism era. during this era novel writing in English flourished for the first time. Williams Wordsworth played a major role in the growth of the English romantics. Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe (1719) is sometimes referred as the first novel in English language. It was written during the era of Romanticism and neoclassicism. aestheticism was the by-product of these two movements. towards the end of this era especially English writers contributed a lot for its growth. It belongs to the anti-Victorian and was harshly criticised by the famous personalities of that era.
