I have trouble with USB port. How to cure it?

I have AMD athlon XP processor with VIA ECS K7VTA3 motherboard. Few days ago, its USB port stoppes working. I asked the expert and he told me to add USB card. I did so. It went ok for few days and now again similar situation has arose. I can't correctly through USB. It wdo works but oftenly. Please help me.
