Both.
My dishwasher breaks my glasses so those are done by hand.
and if I dont have many dishes to do I will just do them by hand.. but if I have alot to do and I am too lazy to do them I use the dish washer.

I have a dishwasher but for big pan and pot I wash the manually. I hate washing dishes so I'M pretty happy with my machine and I'M sure I'm gonna be happier when my family will grow up :P

I think that 98% of the time we wash the dishes in our house manually, because it's quicker and easier. The dishwasher only goes on about 1 or 2 times a week and that's usually after a big or messy meal, something like after a sunday roast.

We wash our dishes by hand as we don't have space in our kitchen for a dishwasher. My parents have had one for about 15 years and actually they only use it once a week or so or when they have guests. As it's just my husband and I at home we don't really generate enough washing up to warrant having a dishwasher. We also take turns to do the housework (including the washing up) as we both work full time and bring in the same amount of money to the household. When you have someone to share the washing up with it doesn't seem such a chore to do it manually.

If i'm cooking, I will wash dishes as I go, however, if I'm grabbing something quick to eat or not cooking, I put all my dishes in the dishwasher and let them go...lol..I hate washing dishes..

I do both, we have a dishwasher but only use it if it is going to be a full load on the basis that they are quite slow and use a lot of energy. Usually if it' just a case of washing up a few pots and plates then I do that manually, it doesn't take very long and uses virtually no energy so it's better environmentally too.

We do it manually. Even my sister who lives in LA, California manually does it. According to her, Using a dishwasher doesnt save her a lot of time. they still have to wash the dish with water before putting it in the automatic washer
