Have you ever seen him? What does he look like. My mother told me that he would get me if I went into the cellar or if I walked too far up the road behind our house he would be there. Who is this mysterious man? Has anyone every encountered him and survived?

Mine lived under my bed and when I was tucked up at night my arms never hung over the bed for fear he was going to grab me.
It would also stand behind me and I would feel a sudden urge to quickly turn round, but it was so fast I never saw it.
The same as when I used to run down the stairs it would be chasing me from behind.
One day it decided to leave and luckily I have never felt its presence since. I am so glad I survived it.
However, I have a new Boogeyman who is everywhere I look.
Heres a picture of him!!!!
ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Maybe he is like Santa Claus. Only one of him. Maybe Santa gives the Boogeyman referrals?

I always thought the boogey Man was under neath my bed. I thought of him as a scary, tall, man, with goop coming off him. He would reach out from underneath the bed if you where bad and grab you and pull you in there too. I quess I wasn't to bad cause I never ended up underneath the bed.

Well he lived in my child hood closets for many years. Sometimes he would stalk me from bushes and behind trees, but for the most part he loved my closet at night. So much that for years before bed, I would have to shove a dresser or something against the door to insure he would stay in there while I slept. He also had a thing for my feet. I just knew he wanted my toes when I was in bed, so I would have to tuck the covers in so he couldn't get to them without waking me.
Now I never seen him, but I can tell you he was short, plump almost troll looking man, with dark green skin. His clothes were tattered and he stunk like rotten eggs if you ever got close to him. He had a glandular problem and his skin was always wet looking. Lots of moles and warts also, tons of bumps on his skin. His eyes was as huge as sausors and his teeth were yellow, due to his lack of brushing. :-)

thomas, is way too funny. I think you mother was just using that to scare you to be careful of doing certain things. Where I group up, my friends and I would say, watch out, or the boogey man is going to get you. I have no idea what he looks like, or how that even started. I know it had to start with something. Maybe going on line and doing a search will answer it.

I have never encountered the Boogey Man and hope that I never do regardless of what he looks like. The name itself scares the heck out of me and would run for my life.:-) I never even thought about the Boogey Man when I was a child. It would be interesting to know what he actually looks like. :-) The Boogey Man that is a wrestler for the WWE is pretty scary looking himself. LOL

haha, never met him, never want too, but always feared him. My mom and sisters would always tease me that the boogy man was going to get me. It still freaks me out, and not a clue what he looks like.:)

I remember envisioning him with a hooded jacket to hide his face and he had long nails to scratch you with.

He is wonderfully scary! He is as scary as you imagine him. Therein lies the looks. You think of him in fear and he appears in that manner. I always wanted to meet him and he never appeared. Guess I was no fun. The only non survivors would be those that die of fright. If you meet him please send him my way please.

I have never actually seen him. But as a child in my dreams. I would picture him as this scary looking old scarred up, bad evil looking thing that stunk really bad from not taking a bath in along time. That liked to eat little children.
