Few days ago, i bought a 3G phone. That time i was very much excited but now i think i did a mistake. With so many functions, most of them are useless for a common man. Its just a waste of time. And in my opinion its just a showy type of thing that reflects your personality. What you think friends???

Oh you got it four years ago, real fortunate lol.
In my city in Orissa, the 3G facility was provided in October 2010, i bought a Nokia having this compatibility, i can do video chatting, but the problem is the persons at the other end must have one 3G compatibilty set..
Thank you so much for this post.

I've never even heard of a 3G phone so I really can't say for sure but from reading the responses here, I'd say it probably is just one more gadget with too many functions. Personally, I have a phone to use it as a phone and nothing else. If I use it for every other function under the sun then when the time comes to use it as a phone for an emergency or something, it won't have any battery power or something and that would just be terrible that I asted all the battery watching a movie. If I want to watch a movie, I'll go to the theatre or rent one from Blockbuster and watch it on my television at home. Thanks but no thanks! just my opinion.

Well, if you know how to make the maximum use of this technology then its best...and if you don't then it would be the wastage of money....But, now as you have bought the phone, you should not regret, as you can explore the possibilites...

3G phone is useful if the network for 3G is available too, I mean 3G functions in a country or state is familiar. But if we have 3G phone and all people we know doesn't have it, what for we bought it? We can't use the features in phone we have. But actually, it's ok to have 3G phone now, because slowly or fast the technology is being familiar with us and we will need that.

it's not a waste of time... people are more mobile today than it is in the past. you may think it's useless if you don't know how to utilize it. maybe one day you could do something important on your phone.

I just looked through some information on the internet. They look like indeed they have too much functions, with games and movies you could even see at home on your television or something, that's to much for a cell phone to me.
But ok, if your in the business and you have some moments on your own, you could use it for some media offcourse.
