What are you getting your valentine?

Are you being traditional or going for something more specific to your partner? I’m getting my boyfriend a box set of Sharpe DVDs. It’s the program he used to watch as a kid but he still loves it.

Times have been hard here this winter. My husbands work slows way down at this time of year, moreso this year, so we are pretty much broke right now. We decided that this year, our gift to each other is to spend some real quality time together. He wants to buy me roses, because he always does, but I asked him not to do this because we can really use that money for other, more important things, like groceries or something. At any rate, this Valentine's day will be just as special, if not more, than any other one we've had.

Well I'm very low on cash right now, so I am just am giving my boyfriend some candy, a card, and some of those scratch off lottery tickets (he LOVES those). I was going to make him a cd and some dinner.

My wife approached me and said "Let's try and save money this year by not getting the typical Valentine's Day presents like flowers and chocolates for each other. We should get something together. Something that we both can use." I agreed as we know that we love each other and feel very comfortable about our relationship. Anyways, we decided to get a new plasma tv....woohoo!! I have the best wife in he world !!

Can I be a real, miserable old kill-joy here, and say nothing!! We don't celebrate Valentine's Day at all - it's too commercial. I woud rather he bought me flowers, or took me for dinner or almost any other day than February 14th, and thankfully, he agrees!!! I like the idea of the Sharpe DVDs though - I was in love with Sean Bean when that programme was on TV! Hope he appreciates them:-))

I'm sure your boyfriend will be ecstatic when he receives that special gift from you, more so because you have given thought about what to get him - not just any old "run of the mill" present. He's a lucky guy and I hope he appreciates you! He will think of you every time he watches it! Now me, I am traditional (and been married a long time), so my hubby books a table at a special restaurant for a romantic dinner. I don't know where until we get there, so that adds to the evening!
