What creeps you out?

It's now 3:00am and i just went and made a drink and remembered I had some Oreo cookies in the cupboard. I open the door and I hear a rustling scuttling sound that i hate. It's either a small mouse (not in this top cupboard) or a large cockroach. YUCK!!! Of course my coffee goes cold while I take everything out and clean it and put it all back - but - one of the packets moved and a cockroach came flying out..scarying me silly. Now I have a healthy respect and fascination for snakes and keep a safe distance. Mice are a nuisance but can be cute and in any case easily gotten rid of. Spiders I don't mind, not daddy long legs cos they are untidy looking but huntsman are good they eat little bugs and money spiders are good luck. I hate flies and mosquitoes but I really truly detest and despise flamin' cockroaches. Eewww! What creeps you out the most? How and why?

Cockroaches for me as well, most definitely. *shudders* I lived with my grandmother a lot as a child, and her house always had cockroaches. Not because it was particularly dirty, but just because there were a lot in the area. I once set a can of pop down on the floor there, took a sip, and had a cockroach running around in my mouth. Bleh. I think what bothered me most about them is how darned sneaky they seemed. I would carefully check the bathtub before I ran my water and get rid of any there. I'd watch the water coming out of the faucet, no cockroaches. There wouldn't be any on me when I got in. And then suddenly I'd find them floating in my bathwater somehow. Ewwwwwwwww. I don't really mind any of the other things most people are creeped out by. In fact I think mice are very cute (though obviously unhealthy unless they're pets), and snakes are just fascinating. There are some bugs I find annoying because they bite, but I'm not really creeped out by them. Just cockroaches.

Your first 2 paragraphs sound like they are out of a plot of a horror movie...in your mouth?....nooooooo!

Haha. When I go back and read them, they do sound like that! Maybe I should pitch it and see if I can get someone to make a "cockroach horror movie" off it. Come to think of it, now I want to go see how many horror movies there are involving cockroaches. Boy am I easily amused! Glad you liked my response. Thanks! =)

Spiders! I live in an area that is sort of wooded, and it seems like we're always battling spider problems. I hate going to take a bath/shower and finding an 8-legged freak in the tub! I agree on the roach thing too - yuck!

Spiders are cool. You need to be careful out doors...we have red-backs here...a bite can be fatal but usually people just get a bit crook. We have trapdoors here too. Amazing those little doors they make. I always have a bit of a laugh when I see that one has gone out and left his door open. Must wear shoes more often. Lizrds sometimes give me a scare. I have a couple of really spiky ones about 20cms long livinfg in my back yard. I won't see them till I come close then they suddenly dash off to hide scaring the living daylights out of me and ruining my peaceful reveries. LOL

Oh I agree with you on the roach thing - when my second husband and I married he was working in Texas and my 2 sons and I lived in Michigan. He rented a house down there and after the wedding we all drove, u-haul in tow, to Texas. Our first night in the new house the boys were in bed and we were about to do the same when I saw something move across the floor of the bedroom. The next 4 hours were spent "hunting" and only ended after emptying half the trailer to find the can of bug spray I knew was in there. I did not sleep though as I was on roach patrol with Raid in hand. My worst "fear" however is the thing you mentioned several times that starts with an "s" and has 8 legs.

3 AM is the hour for most disturbances, its said to be the time in which the barrier between both worlds is the thinest. I've experienced something like that as well.

Yuck! I loathe cockroaches. I lived in a place that was loaded with them. We tried everything to get rid of them. The only way that we finally ended our battle was by moving. Mice are another creepy thing that ranks right up there. **Cringe** I hate the little devils. The are so little and fast, and leave droppings everywhere they go. Nasty.
