Nagging wife: is this a serious problem in the relationship.

My wife is not a nagger, I am sometimes. The reason why I asked this is because my advice was asked by a young married man on how can he handle his wife who is a nagger. I jokingly answered "put your headset on and listen to some rock music while she nags" and we had a good laugh. Do you consider this a serious problem as a husband? Why do some wives nag? Don't tell me it is genetically predisposed, I won't buy that.
