yes i have to agree i have seen a lot of movies getting a bad review and after I watched them they were great movies you cant really depend on a comment on imdb because they are from one user and if he didn't like the moviehe will write a bad comment abou it as for the ratings wheal there usually acurate

I tend not to listen to one single critic, but what the general feeling is about the film with all the critics. If they all say the movie is excellent, than most likely it is, and if they all say it is terrible, then most likely it is.
If I think the movie looks good enough, I don't really care what critics have to say about it.

I don't really listen to any critic. I've seen far too many say a movie is lousy and not to bother with and then I watch it and find it great. I've also had the opposite where these critics will go on and on and on about a movie and to me it's barely decent or worse a dud. So I go by commericials and what my friends tell me if they have seen it. I don't go by the writers on imdb.com; however in the forum area where it's just users discussing it that I might listen to. Just not the staff of the website.

It's an average score of what the people think about this movie, so you can have somehow an image if it's gonna be allright, very bad or very good. Mostly it comes close to their score, offcourse sometimes it isn't close.

I dont really see it as the end all in decision making. Its just a collection of what the average joe thinks about films. Usually, or at least most of the times.. the rating are close to correct.
It is a great sight for collect info. on films. Spledid for that.
