I have attended church services in which healings are offered. I would take care not brand all such gatherings as completely bogus. I have seen actual healing occur. The problem is that it does not last very long and the person often returns for more healing. There appears to be no way to sustain such a healing process. In many disabilities, the person in question often deals with "shadow pain" from an old injury that has healed, but the nerves still habitually send off pain messages to the brain. These can be eliminated through "faith healing" types of workshops. A better option is something like acupuncture, which is very effective. My wife had chronic back pain and heart palpatations due to an old car-crash injury, and three sessions of acupuncture in which tiny needles were inserted directly into the pain centers eliminated the pain to this day (this was back in the early 1980s). Acupuncture, though scientifically proven to equalize voltages within and without the body (which is little more than a giant battery), also carries with it a certain faith-healing element.
