I am a huge fan of the pre-raphaelites, especially Dante Rossetti. I think a lot of it is that there was so much poetry to go along with his artwork that I could truly sink into it and explore the paintings with him on a deeper level. He was such a complex individual, and I admire that a great deal.

I have to agree with you there. However, with this particular Rembrandt, I feel almost as if the holy is everywhere, waiting to be discovered. Also, the way that the art slowly springs from the darkness is also so moving to me... Rossetti I feel does the same in his "Astarte Syriaca".
