I do like freecycle alot but we live in the country north of a small rural town so it's often difficult to receive or give items. I don't want people I don't know coming out to my house so I try to deliver items to them instead. Sometimes inconvienent. As a whole tho' I think it's a terrific concept.

Free Cycle is awesome I have found so many things that I need and also helped alot of people. There are so many house fires that happen and I have helped many familys with items they have lost in a fire.

Isn't most of what you mentioned recycled on Ebay? LOL, honestly the stuff you see on Ebay is amazing and it's one way of not dumping stuff into the dustbin, there's far more money in trying to flog it, people, it seems will buy anything off Ebay! Rubbish to you and I might be riches to someone else out there! Anything I don't want clothes, videos etc goes straight to the charity shop, usually for animal rescue and for cancer research, then they get make a few bob, which helps them as well as clearing the rubbish I have in my home!

Yes! I freecycle! I get a daily email newsletter from our area freecycle group. I usually offer the stuff I have to give away first to my family. Then I will offer my friends. I just gave away 1 box and 3 big bags of young teen clothes. Some still had tags on. I have given things through freecycle, such as houseplants. I met a very nice lady this way, and we still keep contact!

We have a local freecycle group on the yahoo groups. I've given away things on there. I also donate used clothes and other items to the Salvation Army and Goodwill. If I have something to give away and think a friend could use it, I'll give it to them. I think it's a great idea to help others out and try to do it as often as I can. Thanks for posting the link, I'll check it out.

I freecycle stuff all the time. It's fun to meet new people too. But lately I haven't had the time for it. Although, I haven't tossed stuff in the trash either.

I love freecycle. I gave away a bag full of clothes I no longer wear today. And have more I'm scheduling for pick up now. I've given a lot of items through freecycle. It's a great way to share or help and everyone so far has been terrific! Daschie Baton Rouge

Yes I do. It's a wonderful site. I have also got some really good stuff off there myself. I have it set up to send emails direct to my primary email so I always know if something has been put on. It's a great idea and I think it should be more publicly known about. Well done you for posting it on here!

I have been doing it since i was 9. I used to pack all the used papers, old newspapers, aluminium cans, and sold it to a local recycler. By doing that, i could earn money, though little, but feels doing the right thing, and pround of myself.:D

I love Freecyle. I've gotten some wonderful things from there and missed out on things but that happens sometimes. I've also gotten rid of things I didn't need but others did. I've gotten furniture and clothes but I've seen just about everything put up there from cars and boats to computers and games. It all varies and you never know what you might find.

I always try to recycle everything. I also sort all my household trash. We have a couple of websites here in Ireland where we can post all our unwanted goods. My daughter has also set up a website where people can ask for a swap, or sell for a minimal amount. So far things are going quite well and more and more people are beginning to recycly their unwanted goods.

I've never found anything on the Free places worth geting .. or anywhere near me for that matter .. I have tried giving stuff away too and it didn't even get any enquiries .. and it was very good stuff too .. brand new .. competition wins I didn't want .. so I Ebayed them and made a few pounds .. I might have another look as I see my nearest group has finally gone over 1,000 members ..

I think Freecycle is a wonderful organization! A few months ago, I not only moved across the country (2200 miles), but I also moved from a fairly large house to a much smaller one. I used freecycle extensively to find new homes for all manners of stuff there simply wasn't room to move. I think what I like best about it is knowing that my old stuff is going to end up with someone who can actually USE it, rather than in the landfill taking up space. I also found the "free stuff" area of craigslist to be a good way to give away unwanted (but still useful) things.
