I was wondering about how much MyLot users know about the history of space discoveries.
Do you know who was the first human being that went up into space on a rocket?

Yuri Gagarin was the first cosmonaut to enter the space. He was a citizen of th USSR. It is an irony that the first successful space traveller later lost his life in a road accident.

I am sorry, but Yuri Gagarin didnĀ“t lose his life in a road accident.
He lost his life in a result of an airplane crash. He was testing a new airplane, something went wrong, and the thing crashed in the outskirts of Moscow, nor far from the secret military airport.
I have been there. Today there is a monument at the place of the crash.

Thanks guys!
You impressed me with your knowledge :-)
It was the Russian consmonaut Yuriy Gagarin who was the first man who ever went into space in 1961.
One year later it was the American astranaut John Glenn who went up.
