Do you have a quote that picks you up when you're down?
Do you have a quote that you live your life to?
Do you have a quote that easily came to you when you wanted to memorize it?
I do!
"ad astra per aspera" is my favorite quote. From Latin it translates to "starbound through tribulation" and it strikes home for me since my divorce - I _am_ starbound through tribulation.

I got this quote from an astrology website.
Life is like riding a bicycle. If you stop riding it, you will fall.
Everytime I encounter problems in life, I remember this saying and it helps me to keep going.

"Perfect love is rare indeed -
for to be a lover will require
that you continually have
the subtlety of the very wise,
the flexibility of the child,
the sensitivity of the artist,
the understanding of the philosopher,
the acceptance of the saint,
the tolerance of the scholar and
the fortitude of the certain."

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem...
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
how hopeless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake.
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough you would be
the happiest and most powerful being in the world...

I read this a few days ago and it made me cry.
This morning, at my desk at work I cried again.
I needed that. Thank you.

I really like that one. There are a few quotes that I like, but I haven't yet found one that really hits me. I really like the quote, What Doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. I'm going through some tough stuff right now. But I've gone through it before, and I think that I am handling it better this time around because of the fact that I have gone through it before. Hang in there through your divorce. You sound like a strong woman. I admire that.

I have been there, too. And while I absolutely agree that whatever doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, I have a hard time with that quote for some reason. I've been thinking about _why_ I can't totally accept it lately and have yet to come to a total conclusion on it. It's kinda annoying as a matter of fact!!

Oh how I _LOVE_ the last quote.
The "I may be born against my will or better judgment"-part made me laugh!

My all time favorite quote is: "Words destroy the functions of love". It was penned by Stephen King, that great wordsmith himself. I just really get behind the message - words are meaningless. Words impose human boundaries on things which shouldn't ever have boundaries. Words make something that's huge into something so very small and mortal. We shouldn't need words to express things like love - our actions should be enough.

I absolutely agree with you that actions should speak as our words instead of our actual words. I love words, however, and am glad that words connect people so much!

Life _is_ for living, not for sitting around letting it happen to you. That's so very right!

I love
Life isnt measured by the number of breaths we take
but by the moments that take our breathe away
I also like
To have a friend, you have to be a friend
and a true friend walks in, when the rest of the world walks out!

I like the last one you posted, especially. It's nice to see that other people connect to words as strongly as I do.
