I've replied to so many discussion about reading and books by telling y'all about the series by Diana Gabaldon. These are just fantastic books. I can't remember when I've had characters touch me like hers do. Her books are well written and well researched. I cry with the character and laugh with the characters. I've reread the entire series I don't know how many times since I discovered them. The books are Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross, and A Breathe of Snow & Ashes (the only one I don't own yet - at least until my first mylot payday.. then hello ebay here I come!) Go with Claire as she passed through a circle of standing stones (like stonehenge) and finds herself 200 years in the past in Scotland. Meet the Frasers and the Mackenzies and many other wonderful people. Watch the battle between England and Scotland as it begins. Join Claire and Jamie as they start their life together.

I'd be so thrilled if they were to turn these books into movies. Of course, usually when I go and see movies that are based on books I love, I'm sooo disappointed because 1) they don't stick to the story and/or 2) I can't agree with the casting choices. I get set in my mind after I read a book a few times on what the characters are like. The Stand by Stephen King is a good example of that. I had real issues with some of the actors chosen for that movie. Although, I must say; I was impressed with both the Lord of the Rings movies and the Harry Potter movies. I hope that if they do make a movie from these books that they do as good a job with them.

Yeah I have a pretty defined picture of Jamie in my head as well as some of the other characters. Movies casters seem to like to change our views of them at times though many are getting better.

I love the characters in these novels! I cried when Claire has to return to her own time, and my heart ached reading the next book with their seperate lives, and I was full of joy when they were reunited. These books are funny as well, the characters are quite witty, I hope Diana Gabaldon never stops writing these stories.

I absoulutely LOVED Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, but I never read past that in the series. My mom loved the series so much she went to Scotland! This is a great review. I hope you encourage some more people to check out this great series. Gabaldon is an amazing author.

I have loved the Outlander series even since reading the first book. One of the most intense ones I have ever read :) I have all the 6 books but I have only read the first two so far. I plan to read them all though, I am currently reading the 3rd. I have read somewhere that a 7th book is scheduled for release in 2009 and I am very looking forward to it.
