How many of you have been to a Pow Wow? What do you enjoy mostly when you go? I love the hoop dance and the beautiful feathers.

My mother would participate in Pow Wows for many years. She would join my aunt and her husband and help them sell their wares. I did on one occasion visit my aunt when she was at a Pow Wow. I loved the traditional dances that the Native Americans would perform. The smell of sage was everywhere. I hope to go again this summer. I will bring my mother for a day of fun. She has Mohawk Indian blood flowing through her veins.

I haven't been. Have not explored that part of my heritage like I should. Did you say what tribe you are part of?

I go to be wth history. These are the decendants of the first people of this land. They are beautiful and I find so spirtual. I am home with them. The dancing is the telling of stories and a form of worship. It is the connection to the past and hopes for the future. Guess I am a bit of an enthusiast!

I would love to go to a Pow Wow. I have only ever seen them on tv, as we don't have them in my country. We used to play at having Pow Wows when we were children and they were great fun.

I always wanted to go to one- I have a friend who promised to take me if I went to see him in OK. They seem like fun and beautiful to watch from what I have seen on TV on Discovery channel etc.

You must go. They are great. The hoop dance is my favorite. They take all these hoops and don't touch them with their hands and turn themselves into things like butterflys or eagles.

I've never been to a powwow. I've always wanted to go to one though and actually they have a really big shindig about an hour from where I live. I'd like to take my family to that.

My Uncle is Chief Running Wolf of the Chiccora Waccamaw Indian Tribe in South CArolina. Every year the tribe puts on an Intertribal Pow Wow in Loris, SC. It is truly amazing how many different types of Ragalia each tribe presents. Some of them are dressed with very modern and decorative clothing, others are very old fashioned and resemble clothes from the 1800's and then there are some that are very tribal. This is the best part of the experience for me.
