i was starting to get annoyed of the toys on the floor. i told my 3 year old daughter that "nothing belongs on the floor". in those words exactly. she then responds. "the toy box belongs on the floor, the bed too, the bookshelf and the dresser belong on the floor too mom". i couldn't help but laugh. she was right. i couldn't argue there. i guess i'll have to watch how i word things.

i know what you mean. you don't expect a 3 year old to be so smart, but kids know way more than you think.

lol, out of the mouths of babes. Very clever of your daughter and I agree with payingforschool, no doubt your daughter wasn't being sarcastic, she was trying to tell the truth. My youngest daughter does this also, however there are times when I'm pretty sure it's sarcasm as she's seven now and thinks she knows just about everything.

HAH that is cute. I don't think she was trying to 'talk back' or be sarcastic though. Kids just state the obvious, they don't mean it to be 'smart'. I remember one time my son was sooo hungry for dinner which I was cooking, and I said 'keep your pants on!' He looked at me all serious and said, 'My pants ARE on!' He wasn't being sarcastic, just genuinely confused about what I had said LOL.

yes i realize she didn't mean it as sarcasm but it came out so cute. that's a funny one too that your boy said. it's so funny how they take things so litarally.
