I can see that Naruto is like Son Goku, both of them are naive and kind hearted. While Sasuke is like Vegeta, they are both seeking for power.
Son Goku is training to become stronger and loves a friendly battle and finding strong advesaries while Naruto wants to become stronger so he can defend his friends and the village of Konoha.
Vegeta need "Babidi" (the villain who freed Majinboo, if I spelled it correctly), to increase his power while Sasuke came to Orochimaru to gain more power and increase his strength.
What do you think about this? Do you think that there is a similarity?

well, i have read in some websites that kishimoto masashi, the creator of naruto, is heavily influenced by toriyama akira's dragon ball z. if i remembered correctly, he was inspired to draw mangas when saw dragon ball z. i wouldn't say he plagiarized toriyama though. i've also watched dragon ball z, and although i can see some similarities, on the whole, i can say that they are two completely different series and each of them is special in their own way.

Wow! Thats really something interesting fact. Can you share any websites that have that article or topic? It would be very informative for the other myLot users who are interested in reading this article as well.
You're right, there may seem some similarities but stillas you have said, those two are totally different anime series. Its a good thing to know that there are lots of people who are watching Naruto.

@Beowulf Huh, and here I thought Naruto being influenced by DBZ was common knowledge. Though if I'm to be technical, this was written in 2007, and I was made aware of that fact in 2008. So technically yo learned this fact before I did. That being said, DBZ wasn't the only manga Kishimoto drew inspiration from. He also took inspiration from two manga created by Yoshihiro Togashi titled "YuYu Hakusho," and "HunterxHunter." Check out either the manga or anime for those two series and you'll see the similarities to Naruto in those as well.

Don't forget Naruto's clothes are orange,he looks like a super saiyan when he charges Kyuubi's chakra and he eats nonstop.

Thats a similarity.
Goku really eats a lot! Naruto loves noodles but I think he does not eat much like Goku. I think Naruto's full with just a bowl of his favourite Ramen, maybe he eats more than just a bowl of noodles.
The chakras really cool. Sometimes, Naruto seems like a Saiyan when he releases a lot of chakras. Its maybe because his hair raises like Goku but thats just another similarity, I guess.
You got a good sense of observation!

To some extent I do agree with you. I honestly never realised what you have just said but all you said was true that it might be similar to some extent. Though I cannot find anymore similarity beside what you just said. Well, lest see, in Dragon ball, vegeta and songoku are friends at the end. We will see if sasuke and naruto going to be friend at the end. IF thats the case, than it might be very similar.

Well, geta_boushi's comment (No. 3) was something, honestly, I really dont know. He said that the creator of Naruto was influenced by the creator of Dragon Ball Z, Toriyama Akira.
I agree with that, Im hoping that in the end Sasuke and Naruto will be friends. NO matter who gets Sakura, Im still hoping that Naruto and Hinata will end up together,

Well...some parts are similar. Like when Lee uses his gates, its like Goku turning Super Saiyan. But that is probaly the only similarity I ever thought of. But I think that Naruto is better than Dragon Ball Z. In Dragon Ball Z, everyone there seems a little bit too strong. They can destroy the whole world if they wanted too. I think that is too weird. I like Naruto better because you can actually see his trainings and how he learns.

From a certain point of view there are a lot of similarity, but I think that the story of Naruto is much complete respect of the DB one. and the characterization of the personages is better in Naruto. Another aspect is that the battles are too much long in Db and sometimes became boring.

Yeah, I agree. Dragon Balls became boring because of its has a very long fight scenes. For an instance, the fight between the Saiyan Raditz and Goku and Piccolo. They talked too much, although the fight scenes are good.
There are lots of fillers in Dragon Balls compared to Naruto. The characters in Dragon Balls are way much powerful than the characters in Naruto. Saiyans and the other villains in DB are able to destroy a planet, which is very unbelievable. Naruto is more realistic than Dragon Balls, this is just my opinion.
