Yes, Your observations are right ! Many people they imply come to Malls just to kill the time otr to have a fun time! They also come for window shopping.
I think the people who are doing so are especillay from the younger groups, who are either coming in pairs alsong with their boy friend or with their girl frens depending upon the gender. This they do so , because I feel that they feel this palce a more secured place tahn any other, and they do have smll Kiosks, pubs and Restaurants at their easy approach, in the event they want to make their partner happy. Those youngsters who are alone are coming in search of their dates or partners in the Mall which is obviously a nice place to locate one.
The air conditioned ambience, attractive lightings, pleasant Music, security, no botheration or disturbance from others and neat and cleanliness together with other facilities like free toilets and access to free drinking water, all these things can any time make anyone to get attracted to the Malls! Once visited, then you will never understand when you got hang of it, and you would like to visit Mall every now and then if you have some time to kill.
Isn't it worth trying a Berger from the Mac Donalds by paying a few Dollars to get all the facilities mentioned above to please your self mentally and physically?

There are so many malls being built. Rich people in the City built malls. Multinational - Build Chain Malls. They all sell the same stuff. If I will make an obeservation, only few get inside a store to buy. I wonder how they survive. One close anothe open.

yes, with a combo of real and artificial fauna and flora, it's amazing. but it couldn't replace the ambiance of a real park, especially the memorial park. ?

Malls now are social hubs than really retail giants. People go to malls more these days to roam and relax and window shop than to really shop. It's because of the hard times, no more money left for real shopping. Even groceries are built attractively these days, don't you think?

The mall near me is a HUGE attraction as well as a shopping center. It is the largest outlet mall on the east coast. We have a lot of shoppers as well as a lot of loiters. I don't always go to the mall to shop, sometimes I go there to walk or to just "get away" for awhile. Its close to my house and sometimes when I just need to think but don't want to be home alone or drive around I'll go to the mall. I can walk around the halls and the stores without being bothered and think...and maybe do some shopping.

Well, I like to stroll thru the mall in the colder months just like I can stroll thru the park in the summer. I usually go to the mall at least every two weeks weather or not I want to buy anything, its just something to do on the weekends other than just sitting around the house
