If the movie theaters had a break time during each movie so that you could use the restroom or refill on snacks and not miss parts of the movie, would you approve of this? Would you reject this idea? I think it would be a great idea, especially during the really long movies so that we can relieve ourselves or refill on sodas or snacks.

I personally would not be for this, but I can see where some people might like this. I don't want to movie to stop. Right now I can last the three hours with out going to the bathroom, and I don't really eat a lot of snacks when I am at the movies. So for me I would not be happy with a break.

I definitely see and agree with your point on not wanting to pause the movie. Sometimes the movie is so good that you do not want any interruptions and want it to keep running. Sometimes the movie is so good that three hours flies by really quickly for me and do not need a break. I rarely eat anything at the theater as well due to the high costs and unhealthy foods.

When I was a child I remember there being an intermission time. They would sell grab bags for the kids and also announce the deals that was to be had a the snack bar. It was a fun time for all.

I would definitely approve. Who wants to miss a part of a movie they paid probably close to $10 to see? Sometimes people just want to get up and stretch their legs, too.

I think it would be a great idea, especially for movies that are three hours long. I do not want to miss parts of the movie when I am there either since it is expensive now to see movies.

Yeah, I would love to have a good break. Pee time =)! But not too long and there should be a specific exact time again so that you're not gonna miss the next part.

I think this would be a great idea for kids movies, as they sometimes can't wait a few hours to go to the bathroom and it seems to disrupt everyone in the theater. I think adults should be able to think ahead and go to the bathroom before the movie starts and get all of their snacks together. Oh, here's a little tip for you if you eat popcorn at the theater ... ask them to butter it half way through. Get a napkin and put a little bit of salt in it so that if you need it later on you won't have to get up to leave. My husband used to think I was crazy for doing this, now he insists on it!

That is a great tip and suggestion about the popcorn and butter. I will have to remember that the next time I go to the movies. Thank you very much for that advice.

i don't think i'll go for this. i love watching movies, and would terribly hate the interruption. i'd prefer getting all the snacks and doing all the necessities before the movie starts, so i'll have uninterrupted viewing pleasure.

I would absolutely love a break during movies at the theater! I hate getting half way through a movie and having to go to the little jane's room!Another good thing about that is it would be a good time to be able to stretch out a little

I agree that it would give us a chance to stretch, especially during a long movie. My legs get a bit stiff and fall asleep. :-)

Actually Ken...in the old drive-in movies I recall them having a break..I remember a big box of popcorn showing on the screen and some reminder telling you it's time for refreshments.. Do you remember the drive-in movies?

I do not remember drive in movies very well as it has been so long ago and not sure if I had ever seen one in that type of theater before. I wish that I had experienced that. I don't think we even had any here in Delaware during my existence.

Hey, that is a fantastic idea. I love it. But, the lines will be really long I fear, so it better be a good half hour or so. Blessings M&M

That is true that the lines would be very long for the restrooms and the snack stand. They would have to make bigger restrooms and have more people staffed to serve customers. It could take a while for people to return to their seats.

I think that would be awesome!!! I am normally the person that is sitting there trying to figure out if I will miss much if I run to the bathroom. Or someone with me will decide to get refills and then have to asked what they missed when that got back. In turn, I miss what is said when trying to answer the person or disturbing the people around us because we are talking. I think if they had breaks for the bathroom and refills, more people would be happy! After all, I am the person that is usually making a mad dash to the bathroom just before the ending because I really can not wait any longer!

I think it would be great too but I see the other members points that the lines would be very long and could take a while before people come back. :-) I would need the break for the restroom and to stretch my legs. :-)

Longer movies used to have an intermission in them. Of course they did away with those as movies got short for a long time there but now that movies are longer again, going on three hours or more depending on the movie, I think it should be brought back. Actually I always thought it was a good idea for any movie over an hour (any movie besides many Disney animated in otherwords). This way people can go to the restroom, refill their drinks or buy more snacks, walk around and stretch their legs and what have you.

None of the theaters here have ever done anything like that but I think some of us would love to have this idea in place, at least for the longer movies. The movies are getting to be pretty long again as well as expensive and would not want to miss a good part of the movie.

I dont think I would like it at all. If it were a packed house that night, you would not get your seat back and may not even find a seat where you and your friends could sit together at all.

That is a great point as well as someone could end up stealing your seat unless you have a friend or family member to watch your seat for you.

I never heard of any movie theater that do that. But that is a very nice idea. We can have break to buy food, stretch a little and go to restrooms. But do you think that it would cut the thrill of the movie?

I have not heard of any theaters here in the states doing that but wanted to see how people would feel if they did do something like this. It would be nice to stretch a little during long movies. It could take excitement out of the movie though.

Well here in our country India, we always have intermissions. Its necessary here. I don't know why but they are. Its the lenght of the movie I guess that makes the intermissions to be really important. The moves made here are more than 2.5 hours. So people need to use the restrooms and need to fill themselves up with some snacks and stuffs to eat. I really didn't know that outside our country there are no intermissions. Good knowledge for me.

i think that that will be a great idea!! there were times that i just have to go to bathroom in the middle of the show and i couldnt as the movie was getting to the exciting part....in the end, i have to tolerate until the end of the show...and needless to say, i couldnt really concentrate much in the show as i kept on thinking about toilet, waterfall..you get the idea :D

I think it'd be a great idea, cause not only would you not miss parts of the movie, but you wouldn't be interrupting anyone else in the process. Cause I know people hate when you're walking in front of them to go out of the theater to refill on snacks or go to the bathroom?

I think the last movie I saw with an intermission was Ghandi, back in the 80's. The older epic movie's such as Gone with The Wind always had an intermission. These were really long movies though. If it was just a regular movie I would be annoyed. I like to watch uninterupted. Just remember what I told my kids before they went into the theater..."do you have to go?"

Only during a really long movie. I like the intermission. So you can go to the restroom or refill your popcorn or soda and not miss the movie. Some need to just get up and stretch. But for me personally, I want to stay and watch the movie, but it it's a long move, then I am all for it.

I think that cinemas taking a break in the middle of a film would be a great idea, especially in longer films. 3 hours is far too long to sit still, and everyone rushes for the toilet at the end. Taking a break without missing a movie would be a lot more comfortable.
