Why do we have dreams?

when we sleep, why we have dream? sometimes i dream the same dream.

what about dreaming a ghost ? i never meet a ghost in my daytime. and at night i dream a ghost.

we have dreams because while we are sleep our souls leave our body and does things that we are not aware of and we have dreams to keep us sleep and occupied until our souls come back im serious
