I have to say that I agree with you. The first one is a classic.

I think you can't realy sepearte those two. Clerks was the last Smith's clissic in line for me to watch. After 'Chasing Amy' I thought there couldn't be anything better. Two years later, I got to see Clerks and it just made me kneel. Tonite, I saw Clerks 2 and the whole story made so much more sense; the friendship, the meaning of life, the reason you make decisions... Everything became clear. Both movies are brilliant- the first one: coz it was the first and was a kind of a landmark in history of modern cinema; the second one, however, would be nothing without the story of two guys, who spent 'the best years of their lives' swearing the days spent in the 'Quick Stop'. Both make wonderful story.
PEOPLE: CHERISH KEVIN SMITH- HE'S A MAN ON THE MISSION!!!

The first one is a classic and it laid the foundation for so many great movies including Clerks II. But I like Clerks II better. I think it completely hilarious. From start to finish. There is no reason exactly to pin point why. I think I just related to the characters better than I did in the first one.

I like the second movie better. Mainly because it was in color, I feel that black and white movies are kind of drab..

Kevin Smith has made a good work with Clerks II, the first part is his first movie with a low budget but also is a wonderfull film. I don't know which movie is better but I preffer the second part because is in color.
