what was the most effective 'lie' you used that made you a good actor before?

is it funny? or just really extraordinary? what was the lie that had saved you that effects very positively and why have to use that lie before? share us..

when the time that i lost my phone... i was afraid to tell my mom that it was stole from me and so i cried and just told her that i was hold up and didnt know what to do and had no choice that's why i gave my phone.. they believe me and empatized with me... lol
