well there are two ways to run 2 operating systems, you can dual-boot, where you'll need to restart your computer to boot into the other operating system. Or you can go virtual, and run 2 operating systems like XP & Linux simultaneously. You use software like VMware to do that.

I think no Its not possible While running a operating system how can you open another ? Or I didn't get question correctly

when we have windows xp desktop we can run other operating system using dual booting.one drive will be in 'c' and we can store the other in either 'd' drive r some other drive.
