We have recently gotten a cat and his fur seems to be the only downside. it's nice to have him sleep on the bed but then there is fur on it. It's nice to let him sit on your lap but then you are covered in fur. I brush him a little bit and he is a short haired tabby but there always seems to be hair everywhere. i have a lint roller that seems to work and some times go around using a piece of duct tape on the furniture.
Do you have any suggestions or tips on how to keep the fur around the house to a minimum?

no way around it. i have 3 cats and a dog. the dog has whie hair. it is everywhere. i vacuum every other day and that is the only way i can keep up. my cats love to lay on any clothes that are left laying around, especially the clean ones, and they are covered with hair. i usually have to rewash them.

Brush the cat(s) frequently. or get a hairless cat:) my mom vaccumes like constantly every day. its crazy but there is never any cat fur around. she also trims the long haired cat when his fur gets too long. i think this looks TOO funny. but if it works whynot right?

I have two dogs who shed like crazy and I use a special brush that removes all the loose hair from their coats. This minimizes the amount of hair that they shed. When I use it, I have noticed that there isn't as much hair around the house. In addition to this, I make sure I vacuum pretty frequently.
