On-line "Invisibility" mentality

What am I talking about?? I could also call it the "My Space"
Phenonmenon. It's like this. My kids,(at one time), maybe yours and their friends post pictures of themselves, their friends, family and other personally identifiable info. Then they proceed to keep an on-line diary of sorts,you know the discussions that go back and forth and such. They put their lives on the World Wide Web and yet they somehow feel that
they're safe in doing it. I

The problem with that is that savy computer users can trace people by their IP addresses and figure out at the very least the general area in which someone lives. Plus kids tend to mention a lot of things about themselves- places they hang out, might mention their real name, maybe even the city or street they live on. If someone wanted to find them it's easy enough to do so. So in that way it's dangerous.
