also David Ramsey. I fyou have heard either of these names then you know they are in the business of trying to help other to get ouit of debt. DO you think people need these services or should use these services, And do you feel like there should be a limit to the help these organizations? Also do you agree or disagree with David ramey about going from the leat amount to the most in order, to pay off debt? And do you have or have you started an emergency fund if you have how much is enough in your opinion to keep in your emergency fund.

A budget is a necessary evil. If you do not know what your total outgo is, how can you set aside savings or get yourself out of debt? I like to read David Ramsey's articles and listen to Susie Orman and other similiar entities. We also recently purchased a book, Debt Cures: They Don't Want You to Know About by Kevin Trudeau. Each has its own specialty. Be careful of debt assistance organizations. Some are only scams. My hubby signed us up with one and we have learned (we read all the paperwork) only recently (3 months into it) that the first 4 1/2 months of payments are only going to admin fees and not to settling our debt. If we had known that to start with, we would have begun settling our debt without the debt assistance organization. We weren't behind in our bills, but in trouble. Now we are both behind and in trouble and I have been laid off. Best way is to pay off the smaller debt/higher interest rate first and then you can increase the payment for the others as each debt is paid off.
